Barbara, a Shareholder, is Head of the firms Auditing Department.  She practices with some of the Firm's most technically challenging clients.  She is known for her outstanding client service.  Barbara has impact on the Firm's quality of service, future direction, and areas of focus.  Barbara serves as the Firm's Quality Control Director and has just been appointed to the AICPA's Auditing Standards Board.​

Barbara joined Atkinson & Co. in 1991.

Barbara holds a BA in accounting from New Mexico State University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Barbara has sat on numerous AICPA committees including the Technical Issues Committee, Grassroots Panel, Peer Review Committee, Professional & Personal Liability Insurance Committee, and Not-For-Profit Expert Panel.  Her involvement with the NMCPAs includes past President, Strategic Planning Committee, and Liaison to the State Board of Accountancy, Executive Committee, and Advocacy Section.                       ​
